Matthew 14: 12-14
12: John's disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus.
13: When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns.
14: When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
My comment:
Jesus is really great, strong and wonderful which is proved in this chapter again .
Although he knows that John (who has baptized him and is like a brother to him) has been killed he is able to control his feelings and emotions. He isn`t afraid of what has happened to John.
No he even is still able to pray, heal and feed 5000 men with only 5 bread and 2 fishes.
I confess that I am weak and useless. If my sister, brother or my friends would die I would immediately cry. I can`t controll my feelings and emotions like Jesus. That`s why Jesus has impress me very much. We must act like Jesus. If something bad happen to us we must tighten our belief in Jesus more and don`t cry or become confused. Jesus is a example for us and we must keep on living our life and be strong no matter what will happen to us. !!!!!!!

just want to let you know that we missed you both this weekend!
i can hear the man talking in this comment ;) i think crying is ok, otherwise, God would not have created it. many times it is not something that we can control. and you are right, jesus went on to do great work right afterward, even tho He meant to retreat and be by Himself for a little. the people followed Him and He had to take care of them. so perhaps it's the timing for the mourning. because in Ecclesiastes 3 it tells us, "4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance". in another story when Lazarus died, Jesus did cry(John 11:35).
hope to see you soon! :)
