Mark Chapter 03

Mk.3:5 And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts

There were times, when I felt like Jesus (but of course it was because of little things). This inner anger and grief cannot be described.
And even Jesus had this feeling, when he saw the hardness of their hearts. Towards what were their hearts hardened??
=> about the way, which God chose to save his nation. They couldn't accept, that Jesus was the one to come and the one to save them. He expected another, maybe a more glamorous savior- but not Jesus. Their heart were so hard, that they ignored all the miracles of Jesus (which were actually quite a lot. See also how they reacted, when Jesus casts out demons:
Mk.3:
22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”).

As Jesus says, that we shall "not do according to their(the pharisee's) works"(Mt.23:3).
So we should not harden our hearts towards God, but soften it. We should let God work in us, so that we may become more perfect. But soften does not mean, that we should accept everything we hear!! We must not let false prophets abuse our heart and lead it astray. We have to "Watch and pray, lest [we] enter into temptation."(Mt.26,41).

Conclusion: We have to soften our heart towards God, but everything else we have to test, if it is according to the bible.
If we do so, then Jesus wil not be "grieved by the hardness of their hearts"(Mk.3:5)
