Mark12
“27He is not a God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken.”
It were the words "badly mistaken" who captured my attention. At least the disciples were not told this even if they do not understand everything.
“29”The most important one”, answered Jesus, “is this:
’Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
31The second is this: ’Love your neighbour as yourself.’
There is no commandment greater than these.”
Although I have already heard of these verses so many times, I never really paid attention to verse 29. In German the verses are printed bold from verse 30 to 31. But the commandment does not start in verse 30, it starts in verse 29. Anyway, it is not bad at all to remind one often about these commandments. And one day these advices became part of you.
About reminding I had to think about the Israelites who have to put one different special thing on to remember God and the law he has given to them. But more important than to have these things you wear and put on is to put the word of God into the heart. Even if both the things and a heart can be forgotten/ become forgetful or become old, it is more useful to have them in the heart because there they can take affect on you and remind you to remind and in the end can change you so you will never forget.
Mark13
“37What I say to you, Is say to everyone; “Watch!””
So whoever thinks to belong to the everyone than “watch!”
