Mark 9.10.11

Mark 9
„40for whoever is not against us is for us.“

Jesus here mends that actions not against or hindering the work of God and his church is for us. With this sentence in mind we can think who our real enemy is. Is it a brother or sister in church who has other habits, your siblings who are annoying or your parents who are demanding for too much? As long as you cannot see an intended action or an attitude against God and his church we should not oppose this person. Sometimes we judge too quickly or get angry too quick. There are many good works done by people in the whole world.

Mark 10
“16 And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.”
(Just like in Mk9, 36)

Mark 11
“25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

After chapter 11 Jesus does not live in Capernaum anymore. He used to stay in Bethany with his twelve disciples. In verse 11,12,15,19,27 it is recorded how he travels between Jerusalem and Bethany. So he does not stayed the night in Jerusalem, while he went there everyday. And the occasion with the fig tree was on the way to Jerusalem on two different mornings.
