Matthew Chapter 18

"6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! "

As Paul said, "not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way" (Romans 14:13). Here in Matthew, we see the severity of causing God's sheep to sin. That is it better that we die physically than to be alive and cause someone else to die spiritually. Jesus also warns us that there will be offenses in the world, largely due to Satan's works. However, we must not become the person that causes those offenses, because we do not belong to Satan. Do not become like Judas Iscariot, who belonged to Jesus but fell away to Satan and became the cause of the offense. We must be careful not to give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27).
