Mark Ch4

“6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.”

This is one part from the parable of the sower which is one of the many parables Jesus were speaking to the crowd.

Although the seed grew fast, it was not rooted. Therefore when the sun came up it withered. We know from further explanations of Jesus that the sun represents troubles because of the word they hear. It seems that the difficulties are not “normal” once but once which comes up because the person has received the word.

But the plant does not die because of the sun. Even if the plant becomes scorched when the sun comes up it is still alive. But because of the missing roots it can not withstand the sun so it finally withers and died. So the problem is not if there is difficulties or troubles but if you have prepared some roots for a constant supply of nutrition on which you can rely.

(when i spoke of being "scorched" I was more relating to the german word"verwelken" which means that the plant is running out of water and when if does not receive it it will die synonyms are : nicht mehr grünen (thats nice), eingehen, absterben (just nearly dead))
