Matthew Chapter 28

"11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. 12 When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, 13 saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’ "

How foolish people could be. How they can know the truth, but yet deny it and hide it. For what? For pride. How dark, how ruthless, and uncaring. By ruining their own souls, they also ruin the souls of others with such a great lie and deception. Their end has already been told to us through Paul:

"1But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.
4For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,[a] putting them into gloomy dungeons[b] to be held for judgment" (2 Peter 2)

Therefore, knowing the truth, we should not hide it or pervert it. Just tell it as it is.
