"20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained."
There are two things to be learned here, the physical and the spiritual. We can see that what was leftover was gathered into baskets and were not thrown away. On on hand, this teaches us not to be wasteful of the blessings God gives to us, physically or spiritually. On the other hand, it lets us see that God's blessings for us is always more than we need. Jesus knew how many people were there and how much each person is going to eat, because He is God and He has even numbered all our hairs (Matthew 10:30). He could have had just enough food for all the people, however, He had more than enough that there were still 12 baskets remaining.

Matthäus 14,31:
"Jesus aber streckte sogleich die Hand asu und ergriff ihn und sprach zu ihm: Du Kleingläubiger, warum hast du gezweifelt?"
Do not we doubt in some situations, too?
But this story shows us that if we believe in Jesus, we could walk on the water, too, like Petrus.
