Matthew Chapter 14

Mt.14:13 When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself.

Mt.14:22
Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.
Mt.14:23
And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there.

Those two passages show us very clearly, how Jesus reacted after something great and "worldshaking" happend.
After Jesus heard, that John the baptist was beheaded, he did not say or do anything, but he departed and went to a deserted place by Himself. So he had time for himself to reflect and pray.

The same action after a totally different situation: After he had fed 5000 people (!) he had to "make" his disciples get into the boat (so actually they didn't want to leave), then he sent the multitudes away and "
went up on the mountain by Himself to pray". He knew what he should do after performing such a great miracle: To pray and not to "fall" into the trick of Satan, which would be pride (but the disciples "fell" into this trick: they wanted to stay and wanted to be praised by all the people...).

So it's interesting to see, how Jesus acted, after something sad or maybe honourable happend to him. And we can learn a lot from it for our daily life, which has similar situations.
