“8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.”
I liked the combination of being afraid and still be joyful. In Chinese its even a 大大 joy. It is indeed really something to be very joyful. Jesus resurrected. And now we do not only, in comparison to other religions, have a Lord that died but also won the victory and came back to his disciples to give them a last commission and the assurance to be with them always, to the very end of age. And this very and of age is not here yet so he is also telling us this. But still to this joy we also still have to be afraid which I closely relate to something more like respecting. Our God does not only love but is also a mighty, powerful and righteous God. It is strange to combine these two feelings together but it is maybe the right attitude. On the one hand we need not to be only afraid like some people in the middle age were they punished themselves. (Therefore David once said: it is better to be in the hand of God than in the hand of the enemy)On the other hand we should not be like some people today who only want to see the God of love and forget about all the other teachings and his mightiness and his superior position.
