"27But Jesus immediately said the them:"Take courage! It is I. Dont be afraid."
The more I think about this verse the more I like it.
Whether it is "to take courage", "be confidently" or "be comforted" all these are said to calm down the terrified disciciples who are crying out in fear. And its really nice to see no records of anxious disciples anymore after Jesus comforted they immediatley. Sometimes we also wish to have immediate reactions and answers of Jesus in times when we are terrified or when we need assurance, courage or just a little sign about our future. It would not cost him much efford and it would be helping us much? On the other hand we also start to ask oursleves if we are only just to blind to see the actions of Jesus and if our fath has to built upon sight.
We are not left alone.
(Hebr.4,16"Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
(I just used the biblegateway and found some other interesting verses with the keyword "need":
1.Tim5,3"Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need."
here it was the word "really" that made me to notice this verse. Sometimes we feel like being in need and forget about people who are really in need. It is not that we are never in need and even if we have to act like everything is ok...we are weak people and can admitt it. But sometimes we are too focused on ourselves and forget to lift up our eyes (as we know when people in the bible lift up their eyes they usually see something) nice ..Abraham saw the widder)
Therefor Philip 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."
The phrase "It is I" is also quite a nice one.
