22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.
23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.
This parable was once explained in previous convocation by Preacheur Chen. And I'd like to think about it more clearly.
The parable of lamp comes after the explanation of those seeds who have 30x, 60x and 100x grains, because Jesus would like to talk about being fruitful. Here, the lamp is something with the function of lightening, so it should do its mission, no matter it was hidden or concealed at moment. Jesus reminds us to listen and to consider it carefully:
24 Consider carefully what you hear, he continued. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you- and even more.
Just as the lamp was filled with oil and use it to do its mission, we should also use the teachings we've listened and received to yeild fruits, which will be the measere to us in the end time.
25 Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
So, whoever has DONE will be given more; whoever does not have DONE, even what he has will be taken from him. So, Jesus's point is if we go to do something.

Ja,.. i also thought about to shine and not to tell others to shine. We often really really want to tell others where they have to improve and other "helpful" advices. Often it is enought to shine bright and to make others to have the desire to shine as well.
when shall we start? i've been harboring an idea in my mind for us to do as a team. i think we can definitely pull off hymnal evangelism on Sunday mornings if we dedicate ourselves to it. this will be a good start for Heidelberg to reach out to the community and get our name out there. we will need some good german speakers of course, and definitely singers. first off, we will need to be prepare to introduce our doctrines to others. but everytime i think about it, i get very excited :) perhaps we should make this our project for the next year. what do you think?
uh sounds bit scary but i think that it is possible and a good project and a nice aim. i join the preparation for such a project.
