Luke Chapter 16

The parable of Lazarus and rich man tells us that there is not only the life that now is and of that which is to come. Although Lazarus had suffered from the sores when he was alive, he was also lying in Abraham's bosom and no more pain after his dying. His pain was temporary but the blessing he owned is eternal. In the same the punishment the rich man was suffering is not convertible. God renders to each one according to his deeds. We must be watchful of God’s righteous judgment and seek after the eternal blessing.

Rom 2:5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who "will render to each one according to his deeds": 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality.
