John 1

John 1 : 4 - In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

In the few first verses of Chapter 1, John introduced who is Jesus Christ. In verse 4, John used the word of “Light” to introduce Jesus Christ and John emphasized that Jesus is the light of the men (verse 4,9). Moreover, in the chapter 1 verses 1-12, we can find several “Light “words which mean that “Light” is such essential elements in men’s life. And it is mentioned that John was the witness of the “Light”.

Literally speaking, light plays an important role in our life. Everyday we need light to do activity after the day becomes dark otherwise it will very difficult for us to do activity in darkness. This is also the role of the “Light” in our life, when darkness surrounded us; Jesus Christ will give us the light so that we can live this life painlessly. As long as we accept and believe in Him, Jesus will be our “Light”.

I think this is a very good example of John that he witnessed the importance of believing in “Light”. We should follow this example when we want to introduce Jesus Christ to other people as we have been experiencing the brightness comes from our “Light”.
