"20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— 21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen. "
I feel that this encouragement given to Timothy is also an encouragement for us, the younger generation in church. That we should guard what has been committed to us, whether it be our faith, the truth, or holy work. For some reason, Paul especially warned Timothy to avoid contradictions of knowledge, because that can lead us to stray away from the faith. In doing doing holy work, sometimes we may be tempted to contradict and express our kowledge in our own opinion. At those times, different opinions come to conflict to hinder the holy work. In our conflicts, we may lose the unity in God. All in all, when we express our opinions, we must be mindful to do it in truth and love with regard to the work of God, and not our own will and desire. I feel this is a very timely encouragement from Paul for our newly established youth fellowship. Let us pray for unity among us and fruitful labor for the Lord our Father. Amen.
