"23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."
Hopeful verse, but at the same time very testing of our faith. Only when our faith is strong enough will the verse apply. However, we also have to be careful what we ask for. I remember hearing a testimony of a deacon in Taiwan. I think this was a long time ago. He lived next to this family that raised chickens. Somehow, the neighbor's chickens got on his nerves and the neighbor wouldn't fix the problem. So one day, our deacon cursed the chicken saying, "I wish the chickens would just die." The next morning, the chickens really all died.

Wow...
I heard another more serious story.
There was a couple, that argued a lot everyday, and the husband also threatened his wife with a knife. So somehow (I forgot the main reason... maybe it was because of the bad treatment of her husband) the wife prayed to God that her husband may die (I think she didn't really prayed very hard for it but maybe just a thought).
Soon after they got divorced, the husband died because of a car accident. Then the wife remembered what she has asked God.
... a bitter and sad story...
but it reminds us to be careful, what to pray for!
This is indeed true that we will receive anything by believing and having faith in what we asked for.
Nevertheless, if what we asked for is not from the will of God - having been make known to us in our prayers, we still insisted. God will still grant us the things we asked for despite going against His will, we have to bear the consequences of our choices we made.
To share with you a testimony i heard: about some members praying for a believer's daughter to be raised from her death. After the girl came to life, she grew up and then left church, this has causes grief on the family and the church. We can see that the prayers we made may be answered but at the same time we will have to bear the consequences of the choices we made.
