21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?
It's rediculous that the Pharisees and the teachers of the law themselves have already said the answer of the resource of Jesus's power-- who can forgive sins but God alone. But their hard hearts made them see the truth but still unbelievable. I think that it must be the respects from people, their self idenities, their considerings of political position and interests and so on, made them refuse to accept what they should have known. By contrast, the paralytic who has nothing worthy to lose received the bless much more easily. And the other witness also simply recognised that what Jesus did was God's work and gave praise to God.
26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, We have seen remarkable things today.
So, how to receive God's garace? Just put away all those considerings mentioned above, and learn from Simon, James, John and Levi who "got up, left every thing and followed him".
